The sun feels warmer. The days are getting longer. Spring is here! But if you’re not feeling your best, it’s hard to be excited about the warmer weather. You may still be feeling the impacts of a loooooong Covid year; grief, loss, change, isolation, increased anxiety, lack of control and weight gain. And while Covid continues to be something largely outside our control, there are so many things you can do to improve your mood, your health and your life! So what can you do to feel happier and healthier this Spring? As a holistic counselor and a whole food plant based weight loss coach, I am always amazed, but never surprised about the impact of “lifestyle medicine”. Making small changes in our daily lives can improve our physical, mental and emotional health. You CAN lose weight, feel happier and be healthier with a whole food plant based diet!
Over the next few weeks I’ll be posting one lifestyle change at a time to consider. Let’s start with nutrition; switching to a whole food plant based diet can help you lose weight and be happier and healthier!
Spring is the perfect time to begin to include more vegetables, fruits, whole grains and nuts, beans and seeds into your diet. Fresh berries and greens abound, and it just “right” eating lighter in the spring and summer.
I recommend starting by watching a few documentaries about the benefits of a whole food plant based diet. The following documentaries will help you learn about the health benefits, and realize how easy it is to transition away from meat, dairy and processed foods.
~Game Changers
~Forks over Knives
~Plant Pure Nation

Happy watching!
